Alright, so yesterday i got a BRAND NEW xbox 360, they sent a letter saying my problem was validated and that the xbox itself was a different model. Alright, so i plugged everything in correctly, my power supply is fine and i bought a new video cable because it seemed like the only thing not working, but still i got the the ring ( 3 ). Is it possible they sent me a fried xbox? BTW, i don’t have a hard drive hooked up, so i was thinking perhaps this new model requires a hard drive? Very confuzzled 🙁

  1. I doubt that you get a brand new 360. MS probably sent you a refurbished 360. From reading about the RRoD, it seems like MS just adds a heat sink to the RRoD 360 and then say that the problem is fixed. Then when people get it back, it’s more than likely that the RRoD will show up again.

Call MS and get it replaced again.

  2. It is a faulty 360 because you for 3 Red Rings after one day from being Brand New. Take it back as soon as possible (hopefully you haven’t bought it from a random unreliable ebay seller) and replace it.

  3. I found a guide on fixing the RRoD!

    [url is not allowed]

It has information on how to:

    1: Causes

    2: Prevention

    3: Fixes

    4: Stats

    Hope this helps! Good Luck!

  4. What is the exact error that its displaying on the screen as there is many errors that can cause problems that look like the read ring of death, such as having a faulty video cable. Pulling out a harddrive while the xbox is coming on. Not have the video cable pluged in the xbox. But you need to tell what error its displaying. Such as E64 is the red ring of death. E67 is a problem with your harddrive being connected to your 360 and E74 is a problem with your video cable. so tell me what error its displaying on your 360 and i can tell the problem.
