Xbox 360 HDD memory transfer?

Okay, here’s the gist of it: Due to a series of unfortunate events, I am no longer in possession of my original Xbox 360. However, I managed to keep the HDD (you know, the big honkin’ one that sits on top). I am considering purchasing (once I have the money) a new or used 250 GB Xbox 360 Slim. I don’t want to lose the plethora of data on my old hard drive. I most certainly don’t want to restart everything as I have four or five years worth of game saves on the old drive. So, is there any way to transfer memory from an old Xbox 360 HDD to a new 250GB 360 Slim without the use of an original 360 system?

  1. Yes you can actually, what you need to do is go out and get a Data Transfer Cable, its made by Microsoft, when you get your new slim, make sure you have the recent update for the dashboard, if you can’t get onto Xbox Live right away you can download it from the Xbox website. and what you do is you connect the transfer cable to your old HDD and plug in the other end to the usb port on the slim turn on your xbox and a message will appear choose “yes transfer to console” it may take awhile to transfer all of the data depending on how much was on your old HDD. I hope this helps
