  1. You can’t convert saves to another ps3 , you CAN transfer your saves and other data though

You don’t want to use a flash drive because it takes a long time and is complex and also a lot of saves can’t be copied that way , what you’ll want to do is use the consoles data transfer utility and copy everything from one ps3 to the other one

You’ll plug both consoles into your TV in separate inputs so you can switch back and forth and see the on screen menus , then update both to the newest system software version

Connect the together using a lan cable ( ethernet cable ) and on your original ps3 go into the system settings menu and choose data transfer utility

it has directions on screen , just follow them

after a few hours the data is all copies to the new ps3 console then deleted from the first one

If you still want to use a flash drive your will need one with between 2 and 4 gigs probably , it depends on how many saves you have and what size the files are

sign into your psn account and synch your trophies ( this is important ) then copy the saves that can be copied to the flash drive

after you copy them all you’ll have to plug the flash drive into the second ps3 but before you copy and files sign into your account and synch your trophies ( if you do not sign in and synch the saves will not be verifiable as your saves and they can’t be used , saves are locked to your psn account )

after your trophies synch copy the saves to the new ps3

start each game , update it and load your save file , you might need to quit and synch trophies a second time in some games or else they will unlock the same trophies again

Yes there is a way to store your save files online and transfer to a second ps3 , its called Playstation plus , you will need a psn plus membership. this is a great way to copy saves because even locked saves can be copied , you just get 3 months or a year of psn plus and upload your saves to online storage , then sign in on the second ps3 and copy from online storage.

make sure that if you stop using the old ps3 and want to sell it you deactivate it and restore it so you remove personal information

sign into your account , open account management > system activation > games , deactivate

after your deactivate the system restore it ( system settings , restore ps3 system )
