How To Get Surround Sound On My PS3?

Hello, i have the fat ps3 and a UMC TV with no output of sound from it, my only option is to output the sound through the AV connector, but as far as i know there is no surround sound option. my speakers only have a red and white input, and i cant afford new ones, help anyone? thx in advance

BY THE WAY MY VIDEO IS ON HDMI AND I WANT SURROUND AUDIO, WHAT I MEANT TO SAY WAS, DO ADAPTERS EXIST OR IS THERE ANYTHING SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE RELATED TO GET SURROUND SOUND

  1. All you do is connect the audio and visual cords from your ps3 to your stereo through the stereo jack.

  2. do you use the AV connector to connect the video for ur TV? because you would need the white and red portions of the supplied connector to connect the audio to your speakers.

    if that’s your problem, then all you need is an RCA connector.go to an electronics shop.and ask for a suitable length having white and red female connectors at one end and white and red male connectors at the other.

    then go home.and plug in the female connectors (the ones with the holes) into the AV connector supplied with the PS3.and then connect the male ones into ur speakers.

    be careful to connect white to white and red to red though.

    PS: for your own information: the AV connector splits into 3 parts:

    1) yellow: for carrying SD video

    2) white: for carrying left channel audio

    3) red: for carrying right channel audio
