How can I put movies onto the PS3?

I want to put good HD or Blu-ray movies onto my PS3. I upgraded my HDD to 320GB and currently have about 200GB left so I have plenty of space. How can I save movies onto the PS3 so I can watch them straight away without having to put a DVD in? Thanks

  1. u would probably need to rip them onto ur pc and save them there or download them off the internet u cant transfer them directly from the bluray disk to ur ps3

    look into pc ripping options

  2. Firstly, you need the right video format, PS3 accepts MP4 video.

Then you should create a new file named MP_ROOT under the root directory and then create a file named 100MNV01 under the MP_ROOT file. Put your video in the 100MNV01 files and you can enjoy your video on PSP.

If you need a PSP Converter, I recommend Cucusoft PSP Video Converter which worked well for me can convert almost all video format, e.g. DivX, XviD, MOV, rm, rmvb, MPEG, VOB, DVD, WMV, AVI to PSP Movie / PSP Video format.

    Hope it helps!

  3. Well this actually become easy if you already have the files on your computer. Then all you would need to do is stream them to your PS3, or you could copy them down to the hard drive but in any case its easy. Check out our guide here:

  4. Use memory cards (if your version has a card reader or, if there is no reader – use USB card reader), flash sticks or external HDDs. Remember, PS3 recognizes only FAT32 format.

There is an easier way. If your PS3 and PC are connected to internet via the same router – download and install TVersity on your PC (IMHO, the best free media sharing program, available from http://www.tversity.com ). Follow instructions, share wanted files and you can stream media from PC to PS3. No mess at all.
